Kennedy began his karate journey at the age of 5, winning competitions in both Kata and Kumite from the off. He won many regional and national competitions along the way to winning his first World Championship title for Kumite at the age of 9.
To progress further, Kennedy started training under Bob Rhodes Sensei and competing at KUGB competitions. Kennedy was selected for the National Kumite squad and over the next five years won various regional titles every year.
Building on his success in Kumite, Kennedy joined the JKS where he was selected for the English National squad. So far, this has culminated in him winning the Kumite event for his category at the 2019 JKS International Cup in Dublin, Ireland - making him a double world champion (albeit for different Associations) at the age of 16. In 2023, Kennedy was selected for the English Karate Federation Kumite squad.
Over the years Kennedy has trained with some of the best coaches in the UK which combined with his education and experience in Sports Leadership make him well placed to share his knowledge and experience with both new and experienced karate-ka.
